For certified divers on holiday in the Orlando area, there is an interesting diving option, especially for non-diver family members. The living ocean at Disney World's Epcot Center is a marine aquarium with a diameter of more than 200 feet and a depth of 25 feet. This tank contains a sample of Caribbean marine life in artificial salt water and coral reef environments. Through the Divequest tour of the center, certified divers can take part in a special three-hour program that includes diving for 40 minutes in this marine tank.
The current price is $140 and needs to be booked in advance. The diver meets at the Guest Relations office outside Epcot. No or include Epcot Park tickets. However, after the tour ended, I was placed in the main area of The Living Seas, so I ended up seeing the rest of Epcot for free. At 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm twice a day, there are up to 12 divers in each session to participate in the behind-the-scenes journey…
