The 2.4-mile swim from the beach to the Battleship Triathlon begins at the far end of Wrightsville Beach. We have to take the bus from the swimming/bicycle transition point by 6:30 at the latest. Swimming will begin at 7:30 in the morning. After setting up the transition zone between my bike shoes and bicycle helmet, I boarded the bus around 6am.
