Youth wrestling competition training

When my son first wrestled, we joined a club to teach K-8 children the basics of the sport. This is his first time to come into wrestling, he is as green as you can get. Two weeks later, we were surprised that the coach wanted him to participate in his first match! My son has hardly learned how to expand and remove it. When he doesn't know enough exercises, it doesn't make sense for us to participate in the competition, let alone master them. Our coach assured us that he won't win, but competition is part of the plan. So we went, my son accepted his embarrassment, we continued to participate in the competition throughout the season, and soon learned why the tournament is part of this process. When my son continues to struggle and progress in terms of skills, competition has become an absolutely necessary and indispensable part of our training.

Although you always try to win every game, when you start wrestling for the first time, even if you don't have the tools to win, competition is important…
