God and self hypnosis – shake or stir?

Does self-hypnosis practice make you obsessed or possessed by demons? Is it a substitute for prayer and the work of the Holy Spirit? What is the value of religious people?

Many religious people are misled into self-hypnosis. This is an example. A devout Christian friend of mine said that she does not need hypnosis because she has prayers and the Holy Spirit to solve her problems. She thought, because I am a clinical hypnotherapist, I now use hypnosis instead of praying – even denying the power of the divine. She disapproved so much, she threw it away and compared it to the use of the Ouija board! She just thinks that she is hypnotized and God cannot coexist.

Self Hypnosis: Comics and Truth

Self-hypnotic cartoons still exist in the minds of many religious and non-religious people. This is the truth:

  • Self hypnosis is widely accepted in the medical world [the proliferation of scientific articles and books related to hypnosis worldwide strongly emphasizes its relevance].
  • Self-hypnosis does not "occupy your mind." It only focuses on your attention so you can create positive habits in your life.
  • This is not supernatural.
  • This is not spiritual control. In the vast majority of cases, you will be fully aware of the process. Through self-hypnosis, people can complete induction and advice on their own.

Some religious people have never experienced or studied it when they are forced to understand their knowledge of self-hypnosis and the source of their objections. Modern science hypnotism does not exist when the sacred texts of world religions are written down, so relying on these texts to support their opposition is of little value. Some logical common sense is more suitable for discussing the advantages of self-hypnosis.

God and self hypnosis mix?

As a person with a strong faith and a sacred connection, I can tell you that self-hypnosis, God can coexist. Through the use of hypnosis-related techniques, many of my feelings about ethical habits and challenges have improved.

You have heard that "God helps those who help themselves." Since hypnosis is used as a tool for millions of changes, God does not provide it, so can we achieve and maintain our goals? For more than 50 years, modern hypnosis has helped psychiatrists cure mental illness, doctors have alleviated pain, and others have relieved stress and overcome bad habits.

So, when does hypnosis need spiritual help?

Sometimes, there is not much hypnosis that can overcome some problems. That was when I turned to prayer and other spiritual practices. What a powerful combination of prayer and hypnosis can be made!

Both have a lot in common. When we pray deeply and earnestly, we enter a state of change of consciousness, the same as a certain degree of embarrassment of self-hypnosis. But this is the difference: through prayer, we want to open up sacred communication channels and invoke aid – whether for ourselves or for others.

Demon possession and hypnosis

The idea that hypnosis can devalue a mentally healthy person into a demonic obsession or property may come from fear, because we are unconscious in hypnosis, and some forces may take us away. But… During hypnosis, we are still fully awake, awake and controlled [moral]. So we don't have to worry that invisible entities will enter our souls.

I have been practicing self hypnosis and clinical hypnosis since 1996, and I have not seen any hints suggesting any alignment with the devil. Hypnosis makes my prayer life more effective and full of miracles.

In summary

Practice self hypnosis should be considered a gift above. This is a simple and effective way to deal with our challenges – not to replace prayer or sacred connections. It can be used with mental tools to help each of us become the best. Isn't that what God wants?

Self hypnosis and God not only coexist; they all expand our miracles and conform to the universe.
