The fluency of speech is positive
I just completed my intensive fluency course. I feel very wonderful and fluent, completely controlling my stuttering. This is the first time I have controlled this matter to any degree. This has been a delay in my life.
In the past week, six of us, all moderate to severe stutterers, are sitting in the clinic, and a speech pathologist is working on a technique called “long-term speech.” For many of us, this time investment is the last resort to find some systems, techniques or tools to manage our stuttering. The level of motivation is not a problem, we just want to find some relief from this embarrassing and psychologically devastating pain.
Before the course started, we were told that we would spend most of our time speaking at a much slower pace than usual, and we would speak differently at the end of the course. We are all thinking, "Great, bring it!" This weekend is all true, all of us have different opinions – our voices are different, we breathe differently, breathe and talk It is rhythmic and has a different way of thinking. At the end of the course, we were fluent, slower than usual, but very fluent and very satisfied with our newly discovered controls. We all agree that this technique is the answer to our stuttering problem. This may be the first time we have such an idea, "I have a way to control my stuttering", – a positive thought that has been nurturing negative things in our minds.
The simple fact is that unless we allow ourselves to use our new technology and follow this positive mindset, all the old negative “thinking ways” will stand out and stuttering will rise again. Keeping fluency is driven by the individual. Unless the people who try to use them have a positive view of technology and use it in the real world, the best technology will be flat.
Cognitive training and support is available when trying to manage stuttering, which is the most important. If you don't use your thoughts and change the negative thinking patterns that have always existed in our stuttering days, then building new oral skills can be very difficult.
Seek this help to make sure your speech is fluent and can change your life.
