What happens during the shower on the table (body scrub)?

A tabletop shower [or “body scrub/face massage”] provides a truly exciting and relaxing experience. Even better, in addition to pampering, they bring more to the “table” in the form of health benefits.

Although many people may have heard of a desktop shower, many people are not familiar with what they are or what might happen during a shower.

We hope to help you pay attention to the details and make you feel comfortable at the local massage spa. We think you will find it worthwhile, and you may even want to know how long it took you to catch it!

Where is the shower on the table?

Most massage spas often have a personal/private shower room where you can receive a shower on the table. Facilities may vary from business to service, but almost all facilities have a massage table in the middle of the room and are equipped with a waterproof cover [usually plastic]. For hygiene reasons, a clean towel will be placed on the table before each meeting.

Some table showers have multiple shower heads directly above the table to provide a water-based massage or cascaded rain effect for the recipient. Others will be equipped with hand-held shower heads that your masseur will use for your meeting.

What should I wear in this treatment?

You don't usually wear anything during a desktop shower, but state laws usually require you to be protected throughout the session. This is the same as most massage therapy, except that it is not covered with sheets and your private area is covered with a towel.

This service can help you keep your skin healthy and clean, as you usually use an exfoliating sponge/cloth or a cleansing shower gel/scrub to scrub from head to toe [except for obvious areas!]. Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the body to expose fresh "young" skin below. This helps prevent acne, ingrown hair, and improves the overall appearance and health of the skin.

When you are lying face down on the table, your masseur will pour your body onto your body at the temperature you set. The next step is to scrub the body with a gentle brushstroke. This not only helps to cleanse the skin, it also helps to increase blood circulation and promote relaxation. Once completed, the final rinse will arrive. Most spas that offer a desktop shower will also wash your hair if you request. why not?

On average, most desktop showers range in time from 30 minutes to an hour.
