If you enjoy freedom, then meditate.

What role does meditation play in Buddhism?

This seems to be a strange problem. Of course, it plays an important role. It is one of the key pillars of faith.

But what exactly is it?

In Christianity, the purpose of prayer is to connect you to God. Some people think that it talks to people who are literally, while others think it is to let themselves accept what he can offer.

Of course, these elements are in Buddhism.

It is also completely different.

Meditation is nothing but freedom. I am writing this article in the United States a few days before July 4th, so maybe it is my freedom. However, I support it. This approach provides complete liberation.

But what is freedom and liberation?

The world has many temptations, temptations and distractions. These are not bad things. For altruists, it is very beneficial to help those in need.

Virtue is a bad habit when you can't ignore it.

Then there is a real distraction – most people think it is a bad habit. People chasing these things, even if they get them, it doesn't help.

Think of someone who is eager to get a promotion so they can move from a suburban box to a larger suburban box. This goal can consume years of hard work and frustration. Once they get it, they will feel dissatisfied. They started looking for the next bigger box.

Ambition and business have their place. Things can be problematic when people believe they will be happy after they reach the next milestone.

They have been working on building their own prisons for many years.

Maybe you don't have a house. If your prison is made up of other pursuits, it won't make you free.

For some people, they must keep up with the latest trends.

Others buy gadgets that they don't want or need.

Still others struggled for 11.5 months of the year and spent a short holiday.

If these have life meaning, then they will always feel unsatisfied.

There will always be new things in chasing. So what happens if they stop chasing? If, after a few moments, they tear their eyes away from the distant horizon and look around?

At the moment they found themselves, they began to feel free. This may be the first time in their lives.

What happens next depends on them. Maybe they will continue to promote, only this time they open their eyes. They will not postpone satisfaction to future events beyond their control. They grab their attention and bring it to the present.

In a world where everyone looks forward or backward, existence is true freedom.
