As a person with temporomandibular joint disorders, you will know more about the pain intensity caused by TMJ than anyone else. The current medical facilities in most countries of the world have not been cut off in order to provide good TMJ pain management for those seeking help. But this does not mean lack of treatment or medication. What is lacking is a serious disease that is very common to understanding and caring.

TMJ presents many challenges to both patients and doctors. On the one hand, having pain relief is a daunting task in itself, and on the other hand, it recovers from this disease that does not help and alleviate TMJ pain management. How should this be handled? What to do and not to do?

  1. Waiting for treatment until the condition becomes very painful – the first mistake a person with TMJ can make.   3. Assume that if a treatment system is not suitable for you, no one else will – a big NO! TMJ has a variety of treatments, and everyone may have a sweet spot for a particular type of treatment. If your current treatment doesn't seem to work, it's time to change the treatment or doctor.
  4. Using psychoactive substances as a last resort for TMJ pain management – Some people use cannabis or other addictive drugs to eliminate pain due to depression and uncontrollable pain. These substances don't kill the pain, they only remove the feeling of body pain and make the TMJ worse. Soon, you will have two issues to take care of, TMJ and addiction.
