Top Tips for Choosing the Right Pilates Studio – Part 2: Studio Assessment

In Part 2 of this article, we'll look at the differences in the industry. Since different Pilates studios focus on different areas, you have to choose the right studio.

Questions about studio/training:

1. I am a complete beginner, how should I start?

2. What kind of work does the studio specialize in? How is the course going? What is the size of the group?

3. What is the comparison between the ordinary Pilates course and the Pilates rehabilitation course? What is the validity period of the package?

4. Where did your coaches receive training and what is their training time? How long has the studio been operating?

Choose some of the determinants of Pilates Studio

1. Meet the real Pilates studio

Joseph Pilates never intended to make Pilates a "aerobics" program of all time! It should not be taught like a person. It should not be used as a sport to lose weight. You must feel better and healthier after practicing Pilates. If you manage to lose weight, that would be great! But don't rely on it as a "slimming" tool or program because Pilates doesn't feel "burn". Most aerobic exercise programs apply to superficial muscles, unlike the Pilates regime, which can exercise the deep stability of the body. Aerobic exercise is essentially concentric and requires Pilates movement, which is an eccentric compliment.

2. The system and culture of the studio

Visit and visit the studios you are interested in. Note that there is no studio in the regular position. They are not real. A true Pilates studio should have at least 1-2 Pilates reformers. Look at the people who train in the studio and find out what they like and dislike about the studio. Learn about the history of the studio and the types of courses they offer to Pilates beginners.

Here are some more tips to be aware of:

health examination How does the studio handle the phone? Have they asked about the past health history of any disease? What are the arrangements for people with special needs [such as back injuries]? Pilates beginners should not be put into a normal group course without understanding the basics, except for a trial course. For people with injuries or health conditions, group classes should not be recommended until they recover.

Does the price reflect the quality?

Is your health value measured in dollars and feelings? If you never know what is extreme pain, this question is meaningless to you. If you need to see a doctor about a serious problem, would you go to a general practitioner or a professional doctor to be an expert? The opportunity is, the expert, because he/she is in a better position to guarantee your results.

Experts are experts because they invest in continuing education and staying in sync with technology. So, invest in a Pilates trip with a skilled Pilates instructor to get a good start.

customer service

View the effective date of the studio. Validity is a commitment to your Pilates training program. If you can't finish before the deadline, you may not get the benefits of training.

A package with a time frame is good for you, not a studio! Please note that the package contains a long or no expiration date. For some studios that track your money, as long as you pay, their after-sales service will stop, and they are too lazy to remind you of your due date. They don't really care, money is taken. This is the most important! A longer expiration date will lose motivation for the customer training schedule. The customer will feel that he can take the training leisurely. However, in order to make good progress on Pilates, you need to train at least twice a week.

So far, you should be fully prepared to ask questions about Pilates Studio. In Part 3, I will focus on Pilates Studio, which handles specific needs and how to evaluate Pilates Studio's credentials.
