The skin is the largest organ in the body. Since our skin covers our body, it is the most exposed organ we have. Because the skin is exposed, people can see it. This is why many people take all the necessary precautions to keep their skin as flawless as possible.
There are many ways to keep your skin smooth and clear. An expensive method is to get the service of a reputable dermatologist. However, there are some inexpensive ways to keep your skin smooth and healthy. One way is to use lemons to meet your skin care needs. Here are some examples of how lemons can be used in skin care.
Reduce age spots. Extracting juice from lemon and using it directly on the skin is a good way to reduce the visibility of skin age spots. To do this, simply apply the lemon juice directly to the age spots and leave it there while you sleep. Wash your face with cold water in the morning. If you do it often, you will have lighter, cleaner skin in a few weeks. If you have age spots on your body, you can squeeze a lemon and add the juice to your bathtub. Soak in the bathtub for at least 20 minutes to achieve the desired result.
Lighten skin tone. In skin care, our elbows and knees are often the most problematic areas of ours. Applying fresh lemon juice to the knees and elbows will soften and brighten the skin in these areas.
Remove blackheads. Rubbing lemon juice on blackheads can also get rid of them. It is a good astringent that kills any bacteria that can cause blackheads or acne.
Neutralizes oily skin. Citric acid acts as a good neutralizer for oily skin. To make a neutralization solution, mix 2 tablespoons of lemon juice with 1 tablespoon of distilled water and then apply with a cotton ball.
Exfoliate the skin. Lemon juice contains astringents and exfoliating ingredients. You can soften your facial skin by mixing the same amount of lemon, honey and olive oil to make your own mask. Apply the mask to your face and let it dry for 10 to 20 minutes. Rinse the mask with warm water.
Rejuvenate the skin. When you often remove your skin with lemon juice or any medicinal juice containing lemon juice, you will basically peel off the dead skin cells that remain on your skin. These dead skin cells are the cause of your skin becoming rough and hard. Regular use of lemons will make your skin look younger and more radiant.
It is worth noting, however, that citric acid found in lemons is an acid and may therefore sting when applied to open wounds. If possible, do not apply lemon juice directly to already very dry skin. If you need to apply lemon juice to dry skin, be sure to dilute it in water to reduce stinging.
