Different types of thyroid examination

There are four main types of tests that help detect the function of this gland.

TSH test from

 – This test helps health care providers check the working status of the thyroid gland. It measures the total amount of TSH, which is the secret pituitary of the human body.  – Anti-thyroid antibodies are present in the blood and help detect the presence of Hashimoto's disease due to thyroid dysfunction. The two main forms of anti-thyroid antibodies are anti-TPO, which attacks enzymes in thyroid cells; anti-TG attacks proteins in the thyroid gland, called thyroglobulin.
