Pilates has some disadvantages when used for low back pain

Pilates exercise methods have become increasingly popular in the past few years. While many enthusiasts are promoting the benefits of using Pilates in a comprehensive exercise program, in fact, nothing is better than strengthening the core muscle group, but the program has certain limitations. For most people with back problems or depression, Pilates is beneficial, and for those who can't take a strict exercise program, this is not appropriate.

The limitations of Pilates:

Some sports enthusiasts lament the fact that Pilates does not increase muscle mass. If your goal is bulky muscles, you won't use Pilates to achieve them. Although this exercise program involves the participation of bones and muscles, with high resistance and stretch, it does not build bigger and bigger muscles, but extends and lengthens muscles.

2. Some critics of Pilates also point out that the original form of Pilates has no cardiovascular benefits. Sports enthusiasts must supplement the Pilates core and posture enhancement program with aerobic exercise for a more comprehensive or complete workout.

3. For people with Ostergenesis Imperfecta, Osteoporosis, Paget's Disease, Osteomalacia or any other bone disease, taking Pilates exercises is a violation of most doctors' advice. For people with these diseases, it would be better to choose other strength building exercises.

4. Some critics of the Pilates project today pointed out that Pilates coaches are now using exercises and equipment that were not originally designed by the founder of the program, Joseph Pilates. Critics say this reduces the authenticity of the program, and by using unapproved exercises and equipment, supporters of the program have actually committed fraud to make a profit today.

Joseph Pilates first developed the Pilates program more than 70 years ago as a physical therapy to help patients recover from illness and injury. However, these methods used in Pilates may not be suitable for today's physical therapy needs.

6. Although Pilates claims to allow its practitioners to develop longer and leaner muscles, its claim to increase participants' height is unproven. In addition, it has been found that any force build-up, using repeated and balanced low-impact procedures will produce the same results as the core for those muscles.

7. Although some Pilates trainers claim that the use of Pilates will reduce the threat of over-nutrition muscle disease, there is no conclusive evidence that Pilates can prevent this or any disease.

8. Pilates critics have made Pilates equipment unique, but not very unique, and have been copied by other existing fitness equipment long time ago. For example, a low chair looks like a stuffy saddle; a high chair looks like a saddle. It can be said that this pedipull looks a bit like a pulley machine and so on.

Pilates requires participants to use controlled movements that use balance and strength. These exercises are considered original and innovative, but critics report that Pilates is hardly a pioneer, saying it comes from several exercise programs.

If you decide to add Pilates to your exercise program or any other exercise program, you will need to consult your doctor and consider your overall health to see if adding exercise is beneficial to you.
